Winning a Soul Through Prayer

Winning a Soul Through Prayer

A simple prayer can change someone's life...

“We Prayed For You”

You might not know it but someone is praying for you. I was going through a rough time of transferring to a different high school. I lost all my friends and I was feeling a bit lonely at lunch and during passing periods. No one to laugh with or share my experience. I thought this was it, I am stuck like this for the rest of my two years. I let my mind think it was, but God hears the cries of His people. One night I got a call from a friend that was in the Christian group I was in from my previous school and she said “the whole group prayed for you.” Even though I didn’t tell anyone to do this for me, someone was thinking about me. That phone call was the greatest love I could receive at that moment.

Trust and Faith

Praying for a soul that you didn’t know can be the greatest blessing one can receive. This summer I will do Youth Rush. I am terrified that I will make the wrong first impression or say the wrong words. But at the end of the day I did my best to win their soul and I will continue to pray for them. All I can do is trust God that He will guide those people to His kingdom. Ellen G. White puts it so beautifully, “Children and youth may come to Jesus with their burdens and perplexities, and know that He will respect their appeals to Him, and give them the very things they need. Be earnest; be resolute. Present the promise of God, and then believe without a doubt. Do not wait to feel special emotions before you think the Lord answers. Do not mark out some particular way that the Lord must work for you before you believe you receive the things you ask of Him; but trust His word, and leave the whole matter in the hands of the Lord, with full faith that your prayer will be honored, and the answer will come at the very time and in the very way your heavenly Father sees is for your good; and then live out your prayers. Walk humbly and keep moving forward.” Message to Young People

Our fleshly hearts tend to stir up emotions quickly and we forget to acknowledge the presence of the God that can make the impossible, possible. Remember that God hears our prayers and we should try with every strength in our body to spread the message. Finally, to take that faith to action pray for someone who you don’t usually pray for, like the random person you encountered  at a gas station, or grocery store, or even a long lost family member. You will never know what type of blessings they will receive.

So he answered and said, “ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind’; and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” Luke 10:27
