You who in heart long for something better than this world can give, recognize this longing as the voice of God to your soul. - Steps to Christ

When confusion is better than direction

When confusion is better than direction

I would like to take a moment to thank Jesus for all the times in which I needed clarity in my life but still didn't receive it immediately as I wanted.  After reading that sentence, you probably think I'm crazy.  Why would anyone be grateful for being left confused and uncertain in their life?  It sounds kind of stupid to be thankful for that, but hey, read the post below.

I read a blog post entitled, "Why God's Will Isn't Always Clear" By Jon Bloom.  He quoted in his blog:

God doesn’t always make His will clear because He values our being transformed more than our being informed.

Like yo, that is so fire.  Think about it for a second.  What faith would be needed if every time a decision needed to be made the answer was revealed to us right away?  Sometimes God doesn't show us His will right away because through that struggle and time of pleading, He is able to transform us!

As I look back, I'm ok with the fact that I had doubts if I was in the right place, because it was through that experience that Jesus showed me that He loved me and He is still with me in this journey no matter what.  I am ok with the fact that I'm still waiting for Andrews University to get back to me with an answer, because in this experience I realized that whatever happens, my value is found in the one who created me.

These moments of confusion is what God often uses to transform you to be more like Him.  This is what James 1:4 means "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."  It is something about times of uncertainty and patience that leads you to be more perfect to the image of Jesus.

So maybe you're confused and wondering, "God, what is the next step?"  In that moment realize that the Lord is shaping your character to be more like his.  He cares more about your transformation then your information, and when you realize this, you'll have the strength to say thank you for the confusion.
